The Counterpoints

Clark University's All-Female A Cappella Group

Welcome to the home page of the Counterpoints!

                                                         Who are we?

Founded in 1991, The Counterpoints is one of Clark University’s two a cappella groups.  The twelveish "pitches" get together for at least six hours a week to arrange and rehearse a variety of songs.  We have two major concerts a year, plus gigs around Clark and the northeast.

Although we are an all-female group, we pride ourselves on our low range (by not letting certain members graduate) and percussion.  We plan our repertoire to mix serious vocal endeavors with silliness, which reflects the nature of our group.

We are proud to have our website up and running, and hope you take a look at all the pages to get a feeling for the Counterpoints.

                                                      Exciting News

Mark your calendar: this year's Jambeezy is scheduled for Friday, November 13th, at 7:00 pm.  Guest groups are Brandeis' VoiceMale, Northeastern's Bassix, and the Connecticut College Conn Artists.

Congratulations to this year's new Pitches, Katie Friedman and Lorrie Heard!
